Construction Specialist (Sales Rep)

The Construction Specialist conducts activities associated with closing new customers and locations, achieve budgeted revenue, pricing quality, productivity and lead generation goals.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Secure temporary roll-off business and portable toilet business from the following:
    • Construction Companies
    • Contractors
    • Engineering Firms
    • Real Estate Companies
    • Referrals Existing Customers
    • Special Events
    • Seasonal Activities
  • Retention of the type of accounts listed above
  • Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales goals for applicable L.O.B.'s (i.e. disposal, rolloff, etc ... )
  • Ensure all lead source (i.e. Dodge Report, Construction Journal, etc.) business opportunities are quoted and profitable
  • Make sales calls, tele-market to qualify prospects by phone, and or conduct direct mail or advertising campaigns (where necessary)
  • Establish necessary internal relationships with appropriate Rumpke personnel (Operational, Landfill Managers, Sales Managers, and other key personnel).
  • Engage in or join civic, professional, or other organizational groups to develop leads and be seen by community (i.e Solid Waste Districts, Home Builders Assoc.; Area Development Districts [A.D.D.])
  • Ability to deal with prospects and customers in \u0022boots and jeans\u0022 as well as \u0022suits and ties\u0022
  • Maintain the GMS Board activity on a daily basis tracking # of calls made, contacts, new appointments set, # of visits, total temporary sales $, etc ...
  • Maintain prospect information of sales territory (P.I.F.'s) for future sales
  • Complete and submit forecasts and daily activity reports to Sales Supervisor weekly
  • Complete any and all company provided training sessions

Minimum Qualifications
  • Highly motivated individual who is a self-starter with a professional demeanor
  • Possesses a \u0022can do\u0022 attitude
  • TEAM player (able to represent the customer yet support Operations)
  • Early riser
  • Previous experience in the contracting business and/or working with contractors
  • Possesses good follow through skills
  • Minimum 3 years outside sales experience
  • Must be able to produce satisfactory drug test and background check results
