Region Vehicle Maintenance Manager

Regional Vehicle Maintenance Managers are responsible for the management of the vehicle and container maintenance at multiple locations. This position oversees the maintenance managers and staff in order to maintain a safe, reliable and cost-effective fleet of vehicles and/or equipment. In addition, this position is responsible for all container maintenance including inventory. Regional Vehicle Maintenance Managers hire, train, coach, evaluate, counsel, and manage the performance of the region’s Maintenance Managers with an emphasis on safety, quality and productivity. The hours and physical demand may vary by location.

  • Provide leadership to Maintenance Managers at multiple locations. Will oversee maintenance manager’s schedule of work for employees, monitoring of budgeted payroll and DOT hours, tracking of employee attendance, vacation and leave schedules
  • Perform quarterly audits of PM’s, road calls, warranty and parts inventory management each location
  • Ensure all work performed by maintenance manager’s and their staff is completed in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, federal regulations and company policies and procedures
  • To support the maintenance manager and their staff, including hiring, training, scheduling of work assignments, performance management and budgeted employee hours
  • Regularly communicates with Regional and Area staff regarding the status of fleet vehicles, containers and/or other equipment
  • Ensure maintenance department maintains quality and safety standards
  • Assist maintenance managers to ensure locations are meeting budgeted maintenance costs relating to internal and external repairs, personnel, purchasing, inventory management and maintenance metric trends
  • Responsible for monitoring vehicle inspections and repairs that meet DOT compliance
  • Responsible for managers that watch over all garage operations, procedures and ensure completion of all assigned responsibilities in a timely manner
  • Ensure shops meet all company and federal safety rules, guidelines and compliances
  • Oversee maintenance costs in accordance with budget
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

  • 5 years of industry experience managing multiple locations a must
  • Must be willing to work weekends or holidays
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, solve problems, and prioritize work
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Must be organized and detail oriented with the ability to complete multiple projects
  • Computer proficiency in Windows, Microsoft applications (Word & Excel); and SAP software preferred
  • Strong in organizational and planning skills
  • Must possess excellent customer service and data management skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure, be flexible and cooperative
  • Must work efficiently and effectively, both independently and as a team
  • Able to meet deadlines and complete assignments within stated time frames
  • Must have ability to identify trends and improvement opportunities

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have at least a valid driver’s license, CDL preferred
  • Must not have any DUI’s, within the last 5 years
  • Must not have any license suspensions within the last 2 years
  • No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years
  • Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, instructions, signs, and safety training
  • Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays, and night shift if/when needed
  • Must be able to produce satisfactory pre-employment drug test and background check results

  • Moderate exposure to noise, heat, dust and fumes as found in a repair facility
  • May be exposed to various weather elements
