Sales Data Entry Clerk

The Data Entry Clerk under general supervision will perform a variety of functions, from data entry in all lines of business to assisting Sales, Customer Service, and Dispatch with customer calls. This position uses problem solving skills daily to resolve customer inquiries and maintain strong customer relationships. The hours and level of responsibility may vary by location.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:
  • Perform data entry in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Retain in-bound calling customers through effective communication.
  • Provide customers with assistance regarding billing issues/questions.
  • Provide administrative support to Customer Service Manager.
  • Work as back-up to customer service reps in call center.
  • Assist with mailing campaigns.
  • Communicate and coordinate with sales and operations departments to ensure follow-up on sales leads, set-ups, missed stops, and other customer-related issues.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Rumpke’s available services, lines of business, pricing, etc.
  • Interact with internal and external customers in a professional manner.
  • Performs duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Maintains a professional work atmosphere by performing and communicating in a manner that promotes good relationships with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
  • Other duties as assigned.


REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Excellent customer service, data entry, and telephone etiquette.
  • Computer proficient in Windows and Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Possess proven analytical/problem solving solutions for the customer and the company.
  • General knowledge of office functions.
  • Must work efficiently and effectively, both independently and as a team.
  • Able to meet deadlines and complete assignments within stated time frames.
  • Be able to present and maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime, weekends and/or holidays.

Additional Requirements:
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Waste industry (both residential and commercial lines of business) experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in Inside Sales, Sales Support, Administrative Assistance, or similar experience.
  • Must be able to produce satisfactory pre-employment drug test and background check results.


PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Office environment.
  • Prolonged sitting and repetitive motions performed answering phone and working on computer.
