Sales Trainer

The Sales Trainer is primarily responsible for delivering the designated training curricula according to the needs of the sales organization as determined by the Director of Sales & the market leadership. This position serves as the sales member of the company’s training program, leading designated projects and actively participating in evoking standards and making decisions to enhance sales performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION:
  • Plan, create, and communicate monthly training schedules for specified training courses
  • Create, facilitate, deliver, and edit newly developed training curricula for the entire sales team as necessary
  • Lead, review, and provide needed enhancement or improvement of existing training curricula as needed
  • Assess and coach individual participants’ performance during training sessions by observing and actively engaging in participation
  • Provide feedback to the participant, the Director, and his/her manager as applicable
  • Measure the impact of learning through group exercises, facility tours/visits, situational scenarios, and “pop” quizzes that assess their ability to retain what’s been taught
  • Schedule and coordinate hands-on campaigns with real prospects and customers where activity goals are established, call data input, and recorded, and specific business results are measured
  • Provide record keeping to the Director of Sales regarding classes taught, class schedule, and participant attendance and place on network maintaining accurate training participation records
  • Conducts “WORKSHOPS” sessions for designated Sales Specialists where position-level standards and expectations are communicated, and best practices are discussed and implemented
  • Schedule and attend monthly “update” meetings to report progress on training initiatives, ensure and assist with the alignment of training goals with business initiatives, and identify upcoming training opportunities
  • Assists management in the selection of external training suppliers as needed
  • Maintain training information folder on the company Network of all newly developed training curricula, existing curricula, and all associated record keeping
  • Provide assistance to the Director of Sales & Marketing as requested
  • Maintain knowledge of training or company procedures through reading and interpreting general business periodicals and professional journals
  • Maintain Growth Management System (GMS)
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Must present and communicate in a professional manner
  • Possess strong public speaking skills
  • Aptitude to develop and write curricula
  • Ability to teach and present
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft applications and AS/400
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals
  • Ability to routinely travel among Markets and Districts within the Markets
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • Former B2B sales experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Bundle
  • Good Driving record; able to meet Rumpke driving qualifications

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Office environment and traveling to and from businesses

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be able to produce satisfactory pre-employment drug test and background check results
  • Travel to sites as needed
