Scale Ops Process Lead

The Scale Operations Process Lead coordinates and has oversight over Rumpke's landfill, recycling and transfer station scale operations, goals, and major initiatives. This role evaluates and makes effective recommendations to obtain the desired company-wide operational results as related to the post collection efforts and initiatives. The Scale Operations Process Lead heads continuous improvement initiatives and evaluations for existing and new scale facilities.

  • Ensures effective management of day-to-day operation for all Rumpke Scale operations
  • Develop, document, and implement scale processes and procedures to implement at landfill, recycling, and transfer stations
  • Participates and collaborates with cross-functional leadership to develop and deliver effective training, communication, and documentation for operational effectiveness
  • Identifies performance gaps and launches remedial initiatives accordingly
  • Develops tools, analytics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to facilitate efficient scale operations
  • Leads scale operations to ensure compliance with environmental, operating, regulatory, and safety standards
  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and controls projects in accordance with established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements
  • Champions and manages change by demonstrating support for the innovation needed to improve Rumpke’s effectiveness
  • Develops and reviews training plans for new application releases or changes
  • Reviews, evaluates, and develops recommendations for enhancements and support of applications
  • Works with Business Analyst to develop testing scenarios and testing plans for applications
  • Drives adoption and buy-in with continuous focus on customer and user experience
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the waste management industry
  • 3-5 years of experience managing scale operations
  • Experience with overseeing permit /regulatory compliance and supporting internal audit activities

  • Office environment
  • Prolonged sitting and repetitive motions performed answering phone and working on computer

  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Must be able to produce satisfactory pre-employment drug test and background check results
  • Able to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
  • Ability to travel between offices, as required
