SEO Specialist

Rumpke Waste & Recycling, one of the nation’s largest privately-owned waste and recycling firms, is looking for an savvy, detail oriented, SEO Specialist to join its Corporate Communications team.

The ideal candidate for this full-time position is a go-getter with extensive search engine optimization experience and a track record of success. They must be able to execute and expand upon Rumpke’s current organic strategy to increase visibility and rankings in local markets, and drive traffic to Rumpke web properties.

This professional will need to be well versed in all facets of SEO (Local, On-Page, Off-Page, and Technical). They will be expected to perform organic research, assist in the development of organic strategy, and execute technical updates to drive exceptional organic performance for the company.

The position will be based at Rumpke’s corporate office in Cincinnati, OH and will report to the Rumpke’s Digital Marketing Manager.

  • Perform general and competitive organic research to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Complete website health and performance audits.
  • Execute technical updates to improve website performance and key page rankings.
  • Obtain strong external backlinks to boost website authority.
  • Optimize local listings for Rumpke’s multiple locations.
  • Create performance reports detailing the results of organic efforts.
  • Stay current with algorithm updates, industry trends, and best practices.

  • Tech-savvy, with the ability to quickly pick up on new digital tools and processes.
  • Ability to suggest and implement new processes to increase efficiency and improve performance.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum four-years of SEO experience with examples of strong performance.
  • Minimum four-year of experience with SEMrush or similar SEO tool.
  • Minimum four-year of experience with local listings management tools.
  • Expert-level user of the following Google products:
    • Business Profiles, Analytics, Search Console, Tag Manager, and Data Studio.
  • Proficient in basic HTML, schema markup, and related technical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment drug testing.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Working Conditions:
  • Office environment with potential for remote work options.
  • Full-time averaging 40 hours per week.
